CATHOLIC CHILDREN'S SOCIETY, NOTTINGHAM

'Families are Best' is the adoption service of the Catholic Children's Society, Nottingham which has a national reputation for high quality and innovative adoption services. The Society also provides an Adoption Training and Consultancy Service to Local Authorities and Voluntary Adoption Agencies. We are currently recruiting to the following staff vacancies:-

CONCURRENT PLANNING DEVELOPMENT WORKER
Full time – Initially one year contract (secondment considered)

Current Salary Range £31,054 to £34,648

The Society is developing a new concurrent planning service for the East Midlands in conjunction with several Local Authorities and working closely with the Goodman Team of Manchester Adoption Society. We are seeking to recruit a Development Worker who will prepare for implementation of the service. Ideally the Development Worker will become the Manager of the service once it is established.

The successful candidate will need to be a qualified social worker with considerable post qualifying experience and skills in Child Care Social work, including direct assessment work with children and their birth families and in Family Placement work, including Adoption and Fostering assessments, preparing children for permanent placement and providing adoption support. Experience of operating successfully in a management capacity is essential.

The postholder will need to be confident in negotiating with other professionals, including in different disciplines, to positively promote the service.

TRAINING CO-ORDINATOR
Part time post 7 ½ hours per week
Current salary range £28,006 to 29,348 (pro rata

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker/Trainer with experience of designing and delivering training courses to:

  • Promote the Society’s Training and Consultancy Service to Local Authorities, Voluntary Adoption Agencies, Independent Fostering Agencies and other potential purchasers
  • Design and develop new training courses, focused on adoption-related topics
  • Deliver training packages, designed by the Society.
